In the fall, CISV Canada receives invitations from CISV International for upcoming international programmes. These invitations are distributed to local chapters at the National Board Meeting in November through a draft process - similar to an NHL draft! Each chapter selects invitations based on local interest and availability.
In the fall, before the National Board Meeting, we ask that youth interested in attending an international program fill out a Survey of Interest. This is not a committment, but it helps us understand interest levels and secure the best programmes for our chapter!
Applications are typically open from early December through mid-January.
You must be a member to apply to international programmes (although you may purchase a membership when you apply), and you must attend designated activities as part of the participant selection process.
We encourage anyone interested in our international programmes to attend a CISV Fredericton event or activity. You will discover what CISV is all about, and your participation will help ensure the continuation of these life-changing programs.
If you are selected to participate in an international program, you will be required to participate in certain delegation and chapter activities/events in the months leading up to your program.
